We wanted a trip where we didn't exhaust ourselves or waste time pouring over maps and trying to get from place to place. This trip was a splurge for our 30th wedding anniversary so although we have often arranged our own trips in the past, this was our first adventure to South America and the help in organizing the best routes, considering activities that maybe we didn't think to do or weren't in guidebooks or the internet as well as having drivers, guides, and inter-country flights booked became invaluable to making the trip spectacular and smooth. The various independent guide companies hire wonderfully educated and motivated guides who made our days interesting and fun. We are staying in touch with some of them! Lastly, we had wonderful fall weather and several days in each of the four regions we explored in Argentina so that we relaxed, got energized from walks and hikes, and inspired by museums, landscape, and stories from our guides.
